In F is for Falling 1.4 I switched the way High Scores were calculated, mostly because it made more sense. However, an unintended consequence is that your old low scores were technically higher than your new high scores. In 1.5 I am adding a reset scores button (just in case), but in the meantime, just delete it from your phone and re download it, that’ll reset the scores just fine, and you can continue to fall to your hearts delight :)

F is for Falling 1.4 is out!

F is for Falling 1.4 is out. This update was more than just an update for 1.3, it had a bunch of new features and performance improvements too. It should be showing up in the App Store over the next 2 – 3 hours.

  • Bug Fix: High Scores were not saving
  • Bug Fix: Player would jiggle when hitting side of gameplay area
  • Bug Fix: If you died while spinning, the gameover screen would be rotated
  • *Massive* Performance Improvements in switching screens
  • Achievement Notifications
  • Scoring Updated – Since you’re falling, it now counts down from 40,000 feet.
  • High Scores updated – The lower the number, the higher the score (the further you fell)
  • Control Optomization – Touch controls are quicker, Tilt controls are even smoother – Especially on earlier devices!!

Previous 1.3 updates

  • Settings menu – just click on the info button
  • Scaling difficulty, it gets harder over time
  • Better Controls!! You can now select touch or tilt controls.
  • Tilt control refinement, the more you tilt, the faster you move.
  • Major performance improvements – everything is MUCH smoother
  • ‘Play Again’ speed increase, it now resets the level MUCH faster
  • Achievements, there are now 7 achievements (hit balloon boy, hit 100 birds, and fall for 1k, 2k, 5k, 10k and 20k feet)
  • New Hazard – a UFO
  • Hazard Adjustment – Birds don’t kill you anymore, but they do send you into a spin, during which you cannot move.

F is for Falling 1.3 Bug / 1.4 Submitted

So, F is for Falling 1.3 was released last night, and a huge bug got by me, saving of high scores. I had completely redone the high scores to make it load faster, and I must have missed the ‘update high scores’ feature.  Not sure how that got by me, but it did.

In other news :), F is for Falling 1.4 was submitted this morning, and I contacted Apple about a one time expediated review (hopefully), due to the bug in 1.3. 1.4 also comes with a bunch of new features as well:
