Story

While on an expedition to some recently discovered ruins near Machu Picchu in Peru, world renowned archaeologist Max Jones is bitten by an unknown insect. Hours later he dies. His interns transport Max’s body back to camp where an ambulance takes him to the morgue. Two miles from the hospital they are attacked. 48 Hours later all of South America is under martial law.

The rest of the world turns attempts to turn a blind eye to the events happening in Peru, but as the infection spreads news reports begin to leak out. 72 Hours after Max dies, the infection is global. Hoping to stock up before it is too late, you decide to make a quick run to the mall to gather supplies.

Z is for Zombie is an exciting new Side Scroller featuring hand drawn art. Battle through three different levels as you fight from your doorstep through the city, into the sewers and finally to the mall.

Three Exciting Modes of Play

  • Story Mode – Play the game from start to Finish
  • Survival Mode – How long can you last in the never ending Zombie Attack?
  • Free Play – Go back and play any level you wish

 

Instructions:

  • Calibrate your iPhone from the settings menu! Just click on Settings -> Calibrate. Hold the phone how you wish and hit Calibrate. Calibration only works up to a 45 degree angle from looking top down on the phone.
  • Clicking on the HUD at any time exits the game and brings you to the main menu.
  • Basic controls – Tap anywhere on the screen to shoot, Tilt the phone to move.
  • Letting zombies get by you will cost you 100-200 points deping on the zombie type. If your score goes below 0 you die! If your health reaches 0 you die!

Updates

Just to give you an idea of what is planned for Z is for Zombie, here’s a basic roadmap:

1.1 – Released 11/5/09

  • Zombies explode when they die
  • Game is 2x longer
  • Performance Improvements – I’ve put a limiter on how many guys will display on screen at once. This should really help with the laggyness
  • Basic Zombie AI – I still want to improve on this, but even at this level it makes the game better.

1.2 – Available now!

  • Better Zombie AI
  • Redesigned HUD to prevent accidental exiting
  • Redesigned ammo and heath boxes to make them more visible
  • Rewrote entire zombie spawning module – significant performance improvement
  • Game Over screens
  • In game instructions via Info Button
  • Pause Button
  • Fixed an AI bug that prevented it from working in the later levels
  • Tweaked the icon to make it the proper size, it was 1px too short.
  • Some other minor performance improvements
